Blogging About Blogging
You may be asking yourself - what is the point of writing a blog post about blogging? Wouldn't anyone reading a blog already be well aware of what it is?
And you are wrong. That is ridiculous thing to be thinking.
As a matter of fact, I am enrolled in a computer's course at Franciscan University and one of my assignments is actually making a blog and posting about what I am learning.
And I am learning about blogs.
In addition, my classmates are reading my blog and they may or may not have any experience with blogs and so I have to tell them about what I am doing.
And this is what I am doing.

What is a blog? Quid est blog(us?)?
I like to think of a blog as an online journal, where you can post you personal thoughts and ideas in an informal public forum.
You might use a blog to communicate with your students, or document your class activities. Or maybe as a collaborative project that the whole class can take part in.
But I think I would most enjoy using it as a way to discuss the various topics involving education among other parents and educators.
What are some tips for blogging?
Firstly, images are really important, but you have to obey copyright rules. I have found "Flickr" really helpful because they have a lot of "creative commons" images. The only issue I have with Flickr is how difficult it is to search for content on their site.
Another helpful tip I have are how cool all these gadgets are. If you are using Blogger, you may notice that one of the gadgets give you the option for HTML code. That means that you can plug in various third party codes to get an infinite selection of gadgets.
For example, if you had a YouTube channel, you could embed a button in your blog that would bring your viewers from your blog to your YouTube channel. Check out the link for the code.
Apparently, there is even a "buy my a beer/coffee" widget which I haven't tried, but I'm assuming it gives the reader the option of buying you a beverage.
Here is a link to some other cool widgets you might like
What other tips do I have? Not much. Blogger is fairly intuitive.

Hi Zoe! Nice layout! "Quid est blog(us)" :) You are an intriguing writer. I am finding all the gadgets really fun to play with on my blog as well. I'm afraid if I put all the ones I like on it, they would overwhelm the design. Although, I do think I need to find that buy my beer/coffee widget.
